The Meat and Bones!Personality: Clementine Twaite has never been the girl everyone’s best friends with. She’s not the girl who’s there for everyone. She’s a lousy shoulder to cry on. Even with close friends, she’s awkward when people become too emotional about things. The second the tears start falling, she becomes the most awkward person in the world. A pat on the shoulder, a “there, there” and she’s looking for an escape route. It’s not that she doesn’t care, it’s simply that she finds crying to be a very
private thing. It’s the sort of thing you do in the privacy of your bedroom, preferably behind closed curtains. You shouldn’t advertise your hurt, it’s just a way to make it easier for others to hurt you.
She prefers a no nonsense outlook on life. If you’ve got a problem, you deal with it. Letting it sit there, becoming a worse problem, is no way to handle things. You’ve got to take it head on and deal with it. When someone’s offended her, pissed her off, or hurt her, Clementine’s not one to sit back and take it. She’s more than happy to tell someone off when they deserve it. If you’re bullying the first years, she’s
going to call you out on it. Clementine believes that’s a good part of why she was made a prefect. She’s not going to sit back and let other students get away with
bullying the firsties. She’s going to deal with matters. Immediately.
She enjoys having fun just as much as the next teenager. She’s not going to tattle immediately on a group of students discreetly engaging in drinks, for example, though if they’re running around drunkenly hexing other students (or other equally annoying things) she’s going to take care of it. Still, Clementine has a hard time resisting things like the occasional drink, parties, etc. She’s responsible when she does partake (excepting the occasional drunk off her arse incident or two) and tends to keep an eye out. Just in case.
Clementine takes classes Very Seriously and studies frequently. The fact that she got a Poor on an OWL is something that she cannot stand, which is perhaps why she’s been studying non-stop since getting the results. She spends a rather decent portion of time in the library, enough so that she finds it easy to chat with the librarian for a few minutes before getting to work.
Perhaps it’s because she’s opinionated, but Clementine comes off as a bit bitchy. She’s not going to be incredibly sweet to everyone. Clementine thinks it’s silly to make up lies just to make someone feel better. The truth may hurt at times, but it’s a lot handier than being fed a bunch of lies about how awesome, fit, or smart you are. It’s better to have an accurate feel of your strengths and weaknesses, rather than have your ego fed with useless, false flattery. There is the occasional exception, though it has nothing to do with sparing someone’s feelings. Occasionally, when she deems it necessary, she might fluff someone’s ego for the sake of getting something from them. Typically, information.
History: - Andrew Twaite and Claire Gibson met through a mutual acquaintance. It was a casual relationship that both found themselves enjoying. In the beginning, both of them found it quite unfortunate that Claire became knocked up. Andrew didn't leave her, however, and stuck around through out the pregnancy.
- Clementine spent most of her early years tagging along with her father. Her mother loved her quite dearly, but it proved much harder for her to bring a baby into the courtroom than she would have liked. Instead, she was dragged along for interviews. Luckily, she was a quiet baby and mostly sleep through the day.
- As a toddler, her favourite phrase was 'I OBJECT'. She'd toddle around the house saying it over and over again, grinning from ear to ear.
- Despite the fact that most of her classmates found it odd that she had two different houses, Clementine rather enjoyed it. She had two rooms, two family dogs, and two sets of clothing. Two of everything, really.
- The year she turned eight, Clementine accidentally set her mum's date's trousers on fire.
- The year she turned eleven, she received an interesting piece of mail. Though her parents were both quite doubtful at first, they eventually realized that Hogwarts was, indeed, an actual place that their daughter could have quite the future at.
- The first time that Clementine went to Diagon Alley has always been one of her favourite memories. There were
so many things going on that she'd never even thought possible in one little street. It was amazing, as was the incredible amount of information available to her in just one single bookstore. She bought at least twice as many books as required by the school's list.
- Though a little intimidated on her first day, she was more eager than anything else. The sorting hat quickly sorted her into Ravenclaw, a house that would happily accomodate her
and her desire to learn everything possible about wizarding kind.
- Shortly after she started Hogwarts, Clementine received news that her father's girlfriend was pregnant. She met her baby brother, Jackson, for the first time the following summer. Clementine also attended her father's wedding that summer, though she wasn't terribly
pleased to welcome a stepmother into her life. She'd been doing perfectly well without the new additions, thank you. Though she never quite adjusted to the
stepmother, Jackson became one of her favourite parts of going home. When he wasn't crying, whining, or in need of a diaper change. She's not too happy about the fact that Jackson will grow up with the picture perfect family, whereas she's already lost the chance of that.
- In fifth year, Clementine was rewarded with becoming a Prefect. She was EXTREMELY pleased by the honour, believing that she would quite possibly be one of the best prefects that Hogwarts had seen yet. She fully intends to become Head Girl in her seventh year.
- She received several OWLs at the end of fifth year. She also received two Ps, however, and spent the next few months with her nose stuck in a book. She was determined not to let her marks slip down, despite the marks she received on the OWLs. At least she'd done well in the classes that
mattered.
Appearance: Clementine is five feet, eight inches tall. She's of the opinion that that's a tad
too tall for a girl, but she's mostly just grateful that she didn't get her father's height. He's quite possibly the tallest person she's ever met. She sometimes wishes that she was more
interesting looking, rather than just the typical blonde hair with blue eyes. If it weren't for the fact that she's worried about it looking terrible, Clementine would have tried dying her hair by now.
Family: ANDREW TWAITE - father, reporter. Clementine has a much closer relationship with her father than anyone else in her family. She spent the most time with him growing up, tagging along with him to work more often than not. While she wasn't exactly pleased when he decided to get married, she occasionally admits that perhaps it's good that he has a family around while she's away at school.
AMELIA TWAITE - stepmother, reporter. Amelia is Clementine's least favourite person in her family. Yes, she does consider her family, but no, she doesn't think they'll ever be close. Amelia represents the family that Clementine might have had, if her parents had been properly in love and not simply fooling around when she was born. She's nice enough, Clementine supposes, but she's not someone that's ever going to be
really important.
CLAIRE GIBSON - mother, lawyer. Claire Gibson is the one who taught Clementine to never give up when she truly wants something. If you want it badly enough, you can achieve it. She's never been particularly close to her mum, but she does love her and learned quite a few things from her. She's just never been quite as doting or open as Clementine's father has.
JACKSON TWAITE - brother, five year old. Jackson is Clementine's favourite little kid. Not that that's a hard competition to win, considering she's not a big fan of children in the slightest. She loves him, though, even if she calls her stepmother over right away when he starts to act like a brat. He's not her son, after all, and she's sure as hell not going to deal with him when he's acting like that.
